Bravehearts Fall Late on NESN

WORCESTER, MA- The Bravehearts lost 8-4 to the Brockton Rox on Tuesday, making their
overall record for the season 16-22.
 
The Rox came out early and scored one run in the second inning. The score would stay 1-0 until
the bottom of the third inning when the Bravehearts were able to push across a run of their own
to tie the score 1-1. The game would be stuck in a stalemate until the bottom half of the sixth
inning when the Bravehearts would score two more runs to take the lead and make the score 3-1.
 
The Rox retaliated in the top of the seventh inning, managing to score another run and close the
gap to 3-2. The Bravehearts were able to quickly regain their two run lead and score a run of
their own in the bottom of the seventh inning make the score 4-2. The Rox battled back and
pushed across six more runs in the top of the ninth inning, making the score 8-4. The Bravehearts
were unable to muster a rally of their own, falling to the Rox with a final score of 8-4.
 
The Bravehearts went through several pitchers throughout the game. Kyle Rizy (Bryant) started
pitching for the Bravehearts. Rizy walked four batters and got four strikeouts for the Bravehearts.
He was relieved by winning pitcher Gavin Price (Fairleigh Dickinson University) in the top of
the seventh inning. Price pitched for two innings during which he gave up two walks and had
two strikeouts before being relieved in the top of the ninth inning by Grafton native, Axel
Johnson (Stevens), who gave up one walk.
 
The Bravehearts’ next game will be at home on Sunday, July 10th as they face off against the
Pittsfield Suns at 4:00 p.m.
