Ted Williams Bobblehead Night

This Friday, August 2nd, the Worcester Bravehearts will be celebrating the 80th anniversary of a historic moment that happened at Holy Cross. On April 14, 1939 The Boston Red Sox played a game against Holy Cross, and in the first inning a young Red Sox outfielder came to the plate with the bases loaded. The 22-year-old rookie would hit a home run, and the rest is history. That player was Ted Williams, and that home run was the first he would hit in a Red Sox uniform. It was also on this day that Williams was first photographed in a Red Sox uniform.

To celebrate that historic event, the Bravehearts will be handing out Ted Williams bobbleheads to the first 1,000 fans to enter the ballpark on Friday.  The bobblehead, designed to replicate the historic picture of when Williams stepped up to the plate at Holy Cross , is sponsored by Masis Staffing. The team will be hosting the Nashua Silver Knights, and first pitch will be at 7:00pm.
