Thinking about a career in sports? Looking for hands-on training in a high-energy environment? If so, keep reading—the Bravehearts offer internships for students considering the sports management field.

The Worcester Bravehearts offer paid internship programs based around four main departments of our franchise: Broadcast & Entertainment, Fan Experience & Hospitality, Ticket Sales & Ballpark Operations, and In-stadium Sales. Each internship path gives students a unique experience of working hands-on with department leaders, making for an internship that truly prepares them for a long-term career in sports. 

 

Broadcast Media/ Event & Entertainment Interns:

The Worcester Bravehearts Media & Broadcast interns will play a big role in producing Bravehearts broadcasts and creating team content. Interns in the Events & Entertainment departments will be in charge of the "show" the Bravehearts put on during every home game including pre-game performances, between-inning promotions and everything else outside of the actual baseball game. Interns in these two departments will take on a plethora of roles, which could include: 

  • Learn how to produce and direct a professional athletic broadcast under the supervision of the Broadcast Production Director
  • Receive on-air and on-camera opportunities
  • Travel with team on road trips to cover games on social media and write post-game recaps and press releases
  • Capture and edit pictures and videos used for team promotion on Bravehearts social media and team websites
  • Learn how to read, write and follow a professional event game script under supervision of entertainment director
  • Stage manage pre-game and in-game on-field performances and promotions

Fan Experience & Hospitality Interns: 

This internship path is meant for students who want to work directly with fans. During Bravehearts games, our team wants to make sure everyone in the ballpark is having fun, and that's where the Fan Assistance interns come in. During this internship, you will work under the Director of Fan Experience ensure every fan in the ballpark is smiling. Tasks for this internship will include: 

  • Monitor specialized areas such as Kid's Zone and VIP Suites
  • Work with fans for game promotion sign-up
  • Manage Team Raffles and Contests
  • Assist with sponsored concourse booths
  • Engage with fans at front gate

Ticket Sales and Ballpark Operations Interns:

If you are looking to be a future General Manager of a franchise, this is the internship for you. Learning under our Director of Ticket Sales, our ticketing interns will discover unique ways to sell tickets and retain fans. Our Ballpark Operations interns, who will learn directly under our Operations Manager, will be taught how to maintain a stadium, and how to prepare to welcome over 2,000 people a night into your venue. In this internship path, students will take on a combination of tasks, including:

  • Learn about sales techniques for ticket packages, hospitality events and group outings under the supervision of the Ticket Sales Manager
  • Train with the staff to work in inside or outside sales and help to book more visits to Bravehearts' games by companies, community groups, and individuals
  • Give input at weekly staff meetings and help determine new promotional ideas that will drive ticket sales
  • Field Maintenance and groundskeeping
  • Clubhouse Management

Merchandising and Catering Internships:

Take control of the Bravehearts brand in this internship. The Worcester Bravehearts are looking for college students who are passionate about merchandising and sales to run our team store for the 2022 season. As a Bravehearts Merchandising intern, you will learn under our Merchandising Director the best ways to make sales, retail display strategies and much more. As part of our ballpark catering team, you will be learning under the backbone of the Worcester Bravehearts brand. Learning under the Vice President of our Catering department, members of our catering team would not only work during game days, but would have the oppurtunity to work outside catering events with Creedon & Co.
