The Worcester Bravehearts will host the City of Worcester's first Sports Management Summit on January 18, 2019 at Worcester State University's Wellness Center. The Summit will be a full day of discussions and idea-sharing about the sports industry and is designed to help college students and recent graduates network with professionals in the industry.
The day will feature six different panel discussions and breakout sessions, a job & internship fair, and a keynote address to cap off the afternoon. In the evening, the Bravehearts will work with the Worcester Railers Hockey Club to offer behind-the-scenes tours of the DCU Center so that guests can see how everything comes together on a game night. The Railers will host Newfoundland that evening at 7:00 PM.
"With Sports Management majors on the rise at Central MA schools such as Nichols College, Assumption College, Becker College, and Anna Maria College, the Bravehearts wanted to be a leader in the sports industry by helping those students connect with executives who could provide them career opportunities," said Bravehearts General Manager Dave Peterson.
The Summit is also expected to draw students from UMass-Amherst, Southern New Hampshire University, Franklin Pierce and other schools who offer academic paths that lead to careers in sports & entertainment.
Guests are already confirmed from companies such as the Boston Celtics, New York Mets, New Hampshire Fisher Cats and Nextgengolf, with weekly announcements planned for newly-confirmed speakers and vendors.
Students and recent graduates can register for the full day event that runs 9:00 - 3:00 at Worcester State University and continues in the evening at the DCU Center for $25 before December 31st by clicking here. Vendors can also register for the Job & Internship Fair by using that same form. In addition to the full conference schedule, attendees also receive lunch and a ticket to the Worcester Railers game on January 18th if desired.
